Top Hot Chocolate Brands in India for Cafes: 2026 Buyer's Guide

If you run a cafe and want to add hot chocolate, you first need to know which brands sell to cafes and what they cost. This guide compares 12 hot chocolate brands in India: format, pack size and price per kg. We read every price on the seller's own page or on Amazon.in on 19 October 2026. Each source is listed at the end. After the table, we show how to compare cost per cup and how to choose.

One thing to say first. We make one of the brands in this table. Our row uses the same rule as every other row: what the product is, how it is packed, what it costs. The table says nothing about taste. Taste is a test you run in your own kitchen.

What kinds of hot chocolate products cafes buy

The products in this list fall into four formats. In our view the format decides your dose, your prep time and your price per cup more than the brand does.

1. Vending premix powder. Sugar, milk solids and cocoa in one powder (Nestle Professional lists these ingredients for Nesquik). You add hot water, by hand or in a machine (Cafe Desire's listing says add hot water).

2. Powder premix in bulk. Sold in 1 kg pouches or larger. You add hot milk or water and set your own dose.

3. Retail drinking chocolate. Sold in 200 g to 500 g packs. In our view these are home packs and suit a cafe only at low volume.

4. Single-cup sachets. One sachet makes one cup, so the dose is fixed by the pack. Two products in this list are in this group, Jus'Trufs and ours. Ours is chocolate chips with a cocoa blend in a 50 g sachet, cooked with milk for up to 2 minutes.

A decision path with four answers. If you have a machine and a fast queue: vending premix powder, add hot water. If a barista sets the dose: powder premix in bulk, 1 kg pouches or larger. If your counter staff change often: single-cup sachets, one sachet per cup. If volume is low or for a trial: retail drinking chocolate in 200 g to 500 g packs. Then work out the cost per cup, ask for a sample and check supply.

Price per kg is not price per cup

The table sorts by price per kg. Your margin depends on the cost of each cup instead, and that depends on the dose.

Doses differ by four times. Cafe Desire states 80 cups per kg, which is about 12.5 g a cup with water. Nestle Professional states 27 cups of 150 ml from 500 g, about 18.5 g a cup. Our sachet is 50 g a cup, cooked with milk.

So the powder cost per cup runs from about Rs 10 (Cafe Desire, Rs 812 for 80 cups) to Rs 35 (Blendonomics, Rs 700 for 20 cups). Milk adds to the cost of a milk-based cup, and a water-based cup needs none. Compare the full cost of the cup you plan to sell, at the price you plan to sell it.

Powder cost of one cup of hot chocolate, from the listed price divided by the cups the seller states: Cafe Desire about Rs 10 (Rs 812 for 80 cups), Nestle Professional about Rs 11 (Rs 286 for 27 cups), Cocosutra about Rs 27 (Rs 685 for 25 cups), Blendonomics Rs 35 (Rs 700 for 20 sachets), Tiggle about Rs 36 (Rs 359 for 10 cups). Per kg Blendonomics costs about half of Cocosutra, Rs 700 against Rs 1,370, but per cup it costs more because one cup uses a full 50 g sachet. Powder only, milk is extra.

How to choose a hot chocolate brand for your cafe

1. Pick the format first. In our view, vending powder suits a machine and a fast queue. A bulk premix suits a barista who sets the dose. A sachet suits a counter where the staff change often.

2. Work out the cost per cup. Use the seller's dose, your milk price and your cup. Not the price per kg.

3. Ask for a sample. Make it with your milk, your steamer or hob, and your cup. Taste it next to the drink you sell now.

4. Check supply. Ask about the smallest order, delivery time to your city and shelf life.

5. Ask about larger packs. Elixings lists 5 kg and 25 kg packs at a lower price per kg (source 1). Ask other suppliers if they have a trade price.

We wrote a longer guide with eight questions to ask any supplier, including us.

Questions cafes ask

Which is the best hot chocolate powder in India?

No single brand is best for every cafe, in our view. The right powder depends on your format. A vending machine needs a powder that dissolves in water. A barista counter can use a bulk premix with milk. A small cafe may want sachets with a fixed dose. Test two or three in your own kitchen first.

What is the best hot chocolate premix for a cafe?

The best premix for your cafe is the one that gives the cup you want at the cost per cup you need. Choose a format, then compare cost per cup, not price per kg. Ask each supplier for a sample and make it with your own milk and cup.

How much does hot chocolate premix cost per kg in India?

In the 12 brands we checked on 19 October 2026, listed prices ran from about Rs 301 per kg (Elixings, 25 kg pack) to about Rs 2,000 per kg (Jus'Trufs single packs). The 1 kg packs ran from Rs 371 to Rs 1,399.

Is premix cheaper than making hot chocolate from scratch?

We cannot answer that for you without your numbers. A scratch cup uses cocoa, chocolate, sugar and milk, plus staff time to weigh and cook them. A premix puts the dry part in one pack. Price your scratch cup with the same cost per cup method, including labour, before you decide.
